The first thing you will notice about this full and rich wine is the opaque black-purple color. On the nose the wine is deep with dark aromas of loamy earth and powerful plum, coffee and chocolate fruit. The wine enters full, rich and chewy, coating the palate with its black and blue fruit flavors.Extremely dry, the thick tannins really kick in and numb the palate, leading to a dry finish. Even the bubbles are black! There is plenty of structure and tannin to ensure a long life.Enjoy this wine on a winter’s evening in front of the fire with a hearty beef stew or long cooked casserole of lamb shanks.

We are excited to announce the launch of the Kentucky Proud Market website along with the opening of the first Kentucky Proud Market location in The Shops at Lexington Center. Located in the heart of downtown Lexington adjacent to Triangle Park, Victorian Square Shops, Rupp Arena and hotels, the center boasts over 1 million visitors per year for UK games, concerts, sports venues, family shows, conferences and conventions. The 5,000 square foot store in endorsed by The Kentucky Department of Agriculture and is a venture spearheaded by Kentucky Proud member Elk Creek Vineyards. Curtis Sigretto, owner of Elk Creek Vineyards, brings over 20 years of retail expertise as the founder of Halloween Express, a seasonal retail business that boasts 165 stores in 40 states. Kentucky Proud Market offers specialty foods, food ingredients, beverage, and hand-crafted items grown and produced by Kentucky Proud members.
Registered Kentucky Proud and Kentucky Crafted members are invited to participate in selling products at Kentucky Proud Market on a wholesale consignment basis. Participants will establish an account that outlines the amount of product shipped to the store initially and the ideal flow of product over time. We will tailor your consignment agreement to the size of your business. We are committed to offering product from both large and small companies, and require that all participants be registered members of Kentucky Proud or Kentucky Crafted.
