Cheese Boards
By Kentucky Cutting Boards
The board is made of Appalachian Maple (maple is touted as one of the safest anti-bacterial food cutting surface available -including plastic). Each board comes with a label indicating the species of wood used for the inlays plus care and preservation recommendations. One side features a design that is inlaid with various species of wood (including South American Purple Heart, African Lacewood and Wenge, and Brazilian Cherry to name a few) and the other side remains unadorned. Although the inlaid side is perfectly safe for food contact, the plain side is generally used for cutting and then flipped over to display the inlaid side on the counter top.
Care and preservation of your Kentucky Cutting Board
* Before first use, wash and rinse board well.
* After each use, wash normally using a soft sponge and detergent.
* To maintain wood, occasionally rub mineral or salad bowl oil into board with soft cloth after washing.
* Store in a ventilated place (avoid closed storage, such as a drawer).
* Do not leave board submerged in water.
* Do not dry board in sun, nor in standing position inside sink.
* Do not place board in oven or refrigerator.
* Although the inlaid side of your cutting board is perfectly safe to cut and serve food on, we recommend that you cut on the alternate side, and use the design side for display in order to retain the beauty of the species of wood.
